SEI NETWORK - AIRDROP VALUATION

Sei Network has announced that there will be an Airdrop and rewards for those who experience the testnet.

And everyone has the same question, what is the valuation of this Airdrop?

Let's try to evaluate the Airdrop through the following aspects:

What is Sei Network?

Sei is a Layer 1 blockchain designed for trading activities such as derivatives trading, spot trading.

Total value of Sei Network's funding rounds

According to Crunchbase, Sei Network has gone through 2 rounds of funding including the Seed Round and Series A with a total funding of $35M.

With a total funding of $35M, Sei Network is currently valued at $800M.

Remember, the valuation of Aptos ($APT) in September 2022, before being listed on Binance, was $4B.

Sei Network Tokenomic

Sei Network tokenomic is designed as follows:

• Private Sale Investors: 20%

• Binance Launchpool: 3%

• Team: 20%

• Foundation: 9%

• Ecosystem Reserve: 48%

And Sei Network confirmed to use 1% of its total supply to do the Airdrop.

The figure with Aptos is 3%.

However, note that Sei Network divides the rewards into 2 categories: the Airdrop and incentivized testnet rewards.

It is not clear what the criteria for classifying these two activities are, but it seems that the reward levels of the two types would also be different.

Complexity of tasks

If everyone has done the tasks on the Sei Network testnet, then you can see that the Sei Network testnet tasks are quite easy.

It includes: Linking wallets, Staking SEI Testnet, and completing tasks on Sei Ambassador.

For comparison, these quests have the same complexity as in Aptos, even slightly more.

Recent Airdrops

We would base on Aptos, the nearest Layer 1 that announces the Airdrop to the community. Back then, the total airdrop value of Aptos ranged from $200M - $260M with a value of each wallet around $1,200 at the time of $APT listing.

Based on the above criteria, I think the total Airdrop value of Sei Network will be around $75M - $125M. About 1/3 of the value of Aptos Airdrop.

Since there are 2 target groups that can be rewarded, I think the minimum reward that a wallet can get would be from $400.
